In December 1922, a suitcase belonging to Ernest Hemingway vanished from a Paris train station . . . it contained everything the young Hemingway had written -- a dozen stories, poems, even part of a novel -- and it was gone, stolen by persons unknown. But why? When Hemingway learned of the theft, he raced back to Paris via the Orient Express, desperate to recover the only copies of his precious work. The suitcase was never found -- and Hemingway told no one what he learned n his search.
