In these lectures, James McCosh offers a defense of the compatibility between religion and evolutionary theory. McCosh argues that belief in a divine creator and in the process of evolution are not mutually exclusive. He addresses the objections that many religious individuals had to Darwin's theory, and proposes that a belief in evolution can enhance one's view of God's power and creativity.
