First published in 1752, this novel is a parody of Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quixote. It tells the story of Arabella, who, after reading too many romance novels, becomes delusional and believes she is a noble lady in an enchanted world. The novel is a satirical critique of the culture and expectations placed on women during the 18th century.
