Peveril of the Peak

Set against the backdrop of the Civil War's aftermath, the story explores the complex relationship between Sir Geoffrey Peveril, a Cavalier, and Major Bridgenorth, a Puritan, who are neighbors despite their opposing beliefs. Their children, Julian and Alic, are in love, but rising political tensions during the 'Popish plot' threaten to drive a wedge between their families.
