The city of Rome grew to become the centre of a vast and powerful empire. The Roman way of life spread widely over Britain, Europe and parts of Africa and its legacy survived for centuries. This colourful book describes how men, women and children in ancient Rome lives and worked, what they ate and where they shopped, and what they did for leisure and entertainment.
