Instilling the Army Core Values at the Unit Level: Will FM 22-100 Get Us There?

Focusing on the revised final draft FM 22-100, this study evaluates its effectiveness for unit leaders in promoting Army core values. The research includes a comparison of the doctrinal framework and character development model with existing theories, alongside interviews with the document's authors and surveys of experienced officers. Findings indicate that FM 22-100 is theoretically robust and valuable for leaders, though suggestions for enhancements and additional resources were also identified. The study concludes with implications for practice and recommendations for future research.
