The author combines extensive observational data from a longitudinal study with insights gained from a six-year collaboration with Professor Judy Dunn to explore the development of theory of mind. By integrating cognitive and social perspectives, the work offers a comprehensive understanding of how individuals perceive and interpret the thoughts and feelings of others. This research highlights the interplay between cognitive processes and social interactions in shaping our understanding of mental states.
