The tragic Hornby expedition of 1926 unfolds as self-styled arctic outdoorsman John Hornby, despite his admission of inadequacy for the harsh conditions, leads his inexperienced young cousin Edgar Christian and thirty-year-old Harold Adlard into the remote Canadian north. Lacking survival training, the trio embarks on a perilous adventure along the Thelon River, highlighting themes of hubris and the harsh realities of nature.
