The Central European Magdalenian

Focusing on the archaeological record of the Central European Magdalenian period, this monograph analyzes five regional groups from the Rhône to the Vistula valleys, dating from 20,000 to 14,000 years ago. It examines their environmental contexts, including faunal and vegetational characteristics, as well as lithic raw materials and mollusk shell procurement. The work also presents a novel interpretation of bidirectional recolonization following the Last Glacial Maximum, making it a valuable resource for researchers and scholars in archaeology and related disciplines.
