Black Liturgies

Amidst the turmoil of 2020, Cole Arthur Riley sought a trustworthy spirituality and founded Black Liturgies, a project merging spiritual practice with Black emotion and memory. This book expands on that initiative, presenting 43 liturgies that include prayers, poetry, and meditative practices, suitable for individual or communal use. With a focus on healing from oppressive spiritual experiences, Riley addresses themes of wonder, rest, and resilience, offering a transformative vision of faith that honors Black heritage and experiences.
