A computer-aided approach for gating system design for multi-cavity dies

Focusing on automation in die-casting, this thesis introduces a system designed to streamline the design of multi-gates for multi-cavity dies. It automates the placement and shape determination of gates for parts with simple geometries, implemented through a MATLAB GUI. The system utilizes part model data, material properties, and die-casting parameters to generate necessary gating-system specifications. Detailed case studies in later chapters demonstrate the system's effectiveness, aligning with industry best practices and enhancing design efficiency.
