NGOs and Human Rights

The book examines the roles of religious and secular NGOs in global human rights advocacy, highlighting their similarities and differences. It utilizes a dataset of over three hundred organizations linked to the UN Human Rights Council and includes insights from forty-seven in-depth interviews. The authors, Charity Butcher and Maia Carter Hallward, analyze how these NGOs frame and operationalize human rights issues, focusing on culture, development, women's and children's rights, and peace and conflict. This study aims to enhance collaboration between these organizations in addressing human rights challenges.
