The Wild Coast

The narrative follows Hector Bradshaw, a sickly boy from Georgetown, as he is sent to the remote village of Tarlogie for a better life. Under the care of his old-fashioned guardian, Sister Smart, he grapples with the complexities of his new environment, including the legacy of slavery and cultural clashes. His education is dry and colonial, while he is drawn to the captivating yet perilous nature surrounding him and the wisdom of the old hunter, Doorne. Ultimately, Hector's journey is one of self-discovery amidst a challenging and beautiful landscape.
