Exploring the relationship between media forms and the construction of meaning, this work examines how cinematic images influence political communities' values through emotional experiences, particularly guilt. The author argues that guilt serves as a lens to understand the interplay between affectivity and shared societal relations. Analyzing German Post-War cinema, Hollywood Westerns, and films on climate change, the book highlights how audiovisual compositions shape political contexts and historical narratives, offering a fresh perspective on the aesthetics of moral emotions.
