Innovations in Hebrew Poetry: Parallelism and the Poems of Sirach

Focusing on the innovative qualities of Sirach poetry, this study challenges the notion that Ben Sira merely imitates the book of Proverbs. It highlights the unique use of parallelism in his work, arguing that he draws from a broader range of influences rather than relying solely on biblical texts. The book offers detailed readings and philological analysis of the nine poems found in the Masada scroll, alongside general observations on various other Sirach and biblical poems, enriching the understanding of Hebrew poetry.
