Focusing on physical punishment in education, this study utilizes structured and semi-structured interviews with students and teachers in Peshawar, Pakistan. It explores the region's political, socio-economic, and educational landscape, arguing that the existing educational paradigm fails to connect with broader social and economic development. To enhance education as a catalyst for change, the author advocates for a shift from a transmission model to a transformative approach, emphasizing the importance of innovative teacher education programs.
