Whitefoot the Wood Mouse

An American conservationist and children's author, Thornton Waldo Burgess dedicated over 50 years to celebrating nature through his storytelling. Known as the "Bedtime Story-Man," he penned more than 170 books and contributed 15,000 stories to his newspaper column, "Bedtime Stories." Raised in humble beginnings in Sandwich, Massachusetts, after the death of his father, Burgess's deep love for wildlife and the environment is reflected in his engaging narratives for young readers.
