Prescott Valley

The discovery of gold in 1863 transformed the area around Lynx Creek, attracting miners and the military, which established Fort Whipple. By the early 1900s, homesteaders and merchants joined the influx, leading to the incorporation of Prescott Valley in 1978. This evolution from a grazing land known as Lonesome Valley to a vibrant town reflects its rich history, where prehistoric life, mining endeavors, and ranching shaped its identity. Today, it boasts over 35,000 residents while maintaining its small-town charm.
