Viac o knihe
Born into a contentious family, Samuel Butler's early life was marked by a strict education and an expectation to join the clergy, which he ultimately rejected after questioning his faith. Emigrating to New Zealand in 1859, he became a sheep farmer and began drafting material for his renowned work, "Erewhon." Returning to England, he published several influential books, including "Erewhon Revisited" and the posthumous "The Way of All Flesh," which critiqued Victorian morality. Butler passed away in 1902, leaving a complex legacy.
