Viac o knihe
Born into a wealthy family, Algernon Charles Swinburne became a prominent literary figure known for his intense lyricism and innovative use of language. His early success with "Atalanta in Calydon" and "Poems and Ballads" marked him as a controversial poet, often associated with provocative themes. Despite a decline in popularity, his literary criticism and essays showcased his deep knowledge of global literature. A tumultuous personal life, marked by health issues and alcoholism, was transformed by the intervention of his friend Theodore Watts-Dunton, who managed Swinburne's later years. He passed away in 1909.
