Examining the role of campaign financing in women's political representation, this work focuses on the 2014 elections for the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Sul. It highlights the disparities in funding between male and female candidates, contributing to the ongoing issue of under-representation of women in politics. By analyzing the distribution of private and public funds among 605 candidates, the study seeks to uncover the underlying factors affecting gender equality in political representation, particularly in Brazil.
