Set against the backdrop of Australia, this collection of ten short stories revolves around the notorious bushranger Stingaree, inspired by the infamous Kelly Gang. The narrative includes "The Taking of Stingaree," originally published in 1901, and features eight stories from The Strand Magazine, beautifully illustrated by George W. Lambert. The collection also introduces a new story, "The Purification of Mulfera." Stingaree's character evolves from Hornung's earlier work, showcasing a richer portrayal in this 1905 compilation.
