Euripides, a pivotal figure in Greek drama, transformed the portrayal of mythical heroes by depicting them as relatable individuals facing extraordinary challenges. Born around 480 BC on Salamis Island, he initially trained for athletics due to his father's aspirations but ultimately found his calling in theatre. Competing in the City Dionysia, he won only five first prizes during his lifetime. His poetic talents shone in plays like Medea, where lyrical elements created a cohesive musical experience. Despite falling out of favor in Athens, he found refuge in Macedonia, where he was honored after his death around 406 BC.
