Street-Level Bureaucrats' Impact on the Emergence of Local Governance Networks

The book explores the development of local governance networks, focusing on the influence of street-level bureaucrats and the disparities in organizational partnerships with the state. It introduces four potential logics to explain why some organizations are preferred over others. Using Germany as a case study, the research delves into the roles of volunteer managers and employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews and a novel field experiment to uncover biases in bureaucratic behavior.
