Set in a surreal turn-of-the-century London, the story follows Gabriel Syme, a poet enlisted in a secret anti-anarchist taskforce. As he navigates this bizarre world, he discovers that most council members are undercover detectives like himself, all working against a common foe, the enigmatic Sunday. The narrative culminates in a chaotic chase to confront the whimsical mastermind behind their convoluted mission.
