Enchanted by the Italian spring, he finds himself drawn to sketch the picturesque surroundings, despite initial plans to leave. Staying at a shabby inn, he observes two Anglo-Saxon tourists entering a nearby establishment, particularly noting a young woman among them. This visit marks his first experience in Italy, blending themes of exploration, art, and the allure of travel.
