Simultaneously, Joe Willet seeks to escape his father's wrath, leaving behind the woman he loves. Five years later, their lives intertwine amidst the chaos of a violent Protestant uprising led by Sir George Gordon, where a massive crowd of over 100,000 poses a grave threat to everyone in their path.
