Child Labour & Exploitation

It is estimated that approximately 85 million children around the world are engaged in some form of child labour. In China alone, up to 100,000 children are employed in the manufacturing sector. This book explores the evocative topics of child labour and exploitation, looking at children s rights, child soldiers and child sexual exploitation. The information inside comes from a variety of sources, including newspapers, magazines, government reports and charity groups; providing different perspectives on challenging topics. At the end of the book is a selection of activities that will encourage interaction, literacy, critical thinking and independent research.
