When the CAF (Confederation of African Football) was formed in 1957, there were just four member countries and the Africa Cup of Nations the very first African International Cup competition commenced within days. There have now been no fewer than 30 tournaments in the intervening 58 years and membership of the CAF has risen to 56 countries, most of which are also members of FIFA. This book provides as full a statistical record of the 30 finals tournaments as archival data permits and, interspersed with brief notes about each series, gives a real insight into the development of one of the major regional competitions. This book also lists the result of every qualifying game played in the competition.
