This book focuses on life in Los Angeles during the 1940s, 50s and 60s through approximately 50 vignettes and 100 illustrations that describe a corner of the city before freeways became continuous ribbons of traffic, before the Watts Riots changed the image of the city, and before the Internet and cell phones dominated the entertainment and communication choices of its citizens.
