Sarah Sullivan and Henry Higgins are struggling to stop the doors of Red Cliffs Ragged School from closing for good. An important inspection is looming and there is still so much for the pair to do if their pupils -- the poorest and neediest orphans of Torquay -- aren't to be turned out into the cold. Luckily, Sheena O'Reilly breezes into their lives--flame-haired, light-hearted and willing to throw herself into helping the children with love, laughter and Irish practicality. But Sarah doesn't expect the dreadful theft of the school's few valuables. Nor newly orphaned Solomon to arrive with another mouth to feed and heart to mend. Or her once-sweetheart Harry to take such a shine to the feisty new travelling mistress, especially when she isn't sure of her own feelings. And she can't help her growing suspicion that Sheena is hiding something from them all ... Will Sarah save Red Cliffs? And is Sheena a blessing or a curse?
