Witnessing a Prophetic Text in the Making

Focusing on the literary composition of Jeremiah, this study presents an innovative analysis of the prophecy in Jer 10:1-16 as a composite text. It explores various literary strands, including satirical depictions of idolatry, an Aramaic citation, and hymnic passages, dedicating a chapter to each to trace their compositional evolution. The research incorporates evidence from literary, text-critical, and linguistic fields, contextualizing findings within cultural history and theological development, thus offering a comprehensive understanding of the text's complexities.
