Set against the backdrop of a sweltering Los Angeles in 1962, the story intertwines the tragic death of Marilyn Monroe with the kidnapping of a B-movie starlet. Chief Bill Parker enlists the help of Freddy Otash, a flawed ex-cop and extortionist, to navigate the chaos. As Freddy delves into the dark underbelly of Hollywood, he confronts the superficial glamour of the Kennedy era, all while grappling with his own demons and the quest for genuine connection amidst the turmoil.
