Plain Tales from the Hills

The story follows the daughter of Sonoo, a Hill-man, and his wife Jadeh, as they navigate the challenges of their environment. After a failed maize harvest and a bear invasion of their poppy-field, the family decides to convert to Christianity, seeking hope and change. This decision marks a significant turning point in their lives, reflecting themes of faith, survival, and adaptation in the face of adversity in the Sutlej Valley.
