"[Zhukov] had a reputation for utter determination and ruthlessness in achieving his objectives, regardless of the cost in human lives, and for demanding instant and absolute obedience to orders. In an army of millions the keys to success lay in strategy, logistics and determination, and Zhukov was master of all three. He lay great stress on personal reconnaissance and concise briefings.
