Jednoznačně přečíst. Na to že byla napsána v padesátých letech, autor předjímá možnost zneužití vědeckotechnického pokroku ( např. vojenské satelity, i samotní trifidi ( čínský vynález ). Zajímavý je pohled na způsoby přežití malých skupin přeživších lidí, a probuzení autoritářských sklonů v některých z nás. Zajímavá je i úvaha o degeneraci lidstva v mimořádných podmínkách. První generace po katastrofě ještě vše pamatuje, druhá generace to už zná jen z knížek, třetí generace -divoši.
