The Primary English Classroom Corpus (PECC) offers authentic classroom discourse of early foreign language teaching in German primary school classrooms and presents the data in form of a text corpus. Each transcript shows the interaction during an English lesson, focusing on the verbal aspects of communication between the teacher and the pupils. The corpus provides a window into classroom-based teaching and learning, a rich database to study the communicative processes and products of primary school English language teaching and a tool to reflect on the micro-realities of early foreign language classrooms.
