Maria Cristina Rumi, painter and sculptor, was born in 1952 in Genoa (Italy), and today lives in the Gulf of Toigullio, near Portofino She trained with the painter Rocco Borella, in the Barabino art school in Genoa. Her works are distinguished by a marked social criticism. Rumi uses mixed oil and acrylic techniques. Her work is based on a fast brush movement and a strong color impact. The art works created by Rumi, represent a realistic point of view on contemporary social crise. Every one of her works are charaterised by a philosophic, criticism and pity, towards a world full of contraddictions. She is highly appreciated in the Middle East, where she hase recently created a framework for Emir Khalifa S. Al Zaffin - Executive Chairman of the Dubai Aviation City Corporation (DACCP), member of the Dubai High Expo 2020 Committee and Chief Executive of Dubai World Central. In the 2017 she became Artistic Director of the cultural association ControKultura.
