"Engineering redox metabolism of Pseudomonas putida KT2440"

This thesis describes in detail the redox metabolism of P. putida KT2440. 13C metabolic flux analysis revealed how P. putida KT2440 handles excess NADH while growing on glucose and being co-fed with formate without excreting low reduced compounds. Based on these results an assay was developed allowing the screening of redox enhancing substrates. Furthermore, a genetic tool was developed that integrates into the genome of P. putida KT2440 resulting in a stable and reliable phenotype.
