Tess of the D'Urbervilles

When the local parson hints that the humble Durbeyfield family is descended from the noble D'Urberville line, it falls to Tess to claim kinship and seek a portion of the family fortune. Alec D'Urberville is only too keen to help his beautiful and spirited 'cousin', but Tess realizes too late the heavy price she will have to pay.
