Viac o knihe

In his new book Georgios Alexandropoulos examines the function of the set and frozen expressions in Modern Greek. In the Modern Greek language some set and frozen expressions from the Ancient Greek Language have survived. Even though it has been years, since they were first used, they have not changed at all for a variety of reasons, such as the diachronic route of the Greek Language, the religious and literally tradition and the linguistic dispute between demotic and official, purist language and social diglossia. Besides these reasons the stabilization of these expressions is caused by their non-compositionality and non-flexibility in the syntagmatic and paradigmatic axon, even though in many TV series these phrases are modified to give a sense of humor. The purpose of this book is to describe the way that children learn these phrases and how frequently they produce them into their speech, adopting the framework of mechanisms which are called social cognition and grammatical analysis module (written in Greek).
