Drugs in Inflammation

On June 28-29, 1990, in Noordwijk, The Netherlands, the International Association of Inflammation Societies (IAIS) held its inaugural symposium on Drugs in Inflammation, serving as an official satellite of the Ixth International Congress of Pharmacology (IUPHAR). This volume presents the proceedings from that meeting. The IAIS was formed in 1988 by representatives from the Inflammation Research Association (IRA), the European Workshop on Inflammation (EWI), and the British Inflammation Research Association (BIRA), who aimed to enhance communication among inflammation societies globally. The IAIS promotes collaboration among these societies and supports the formation of new ones. The symposium was a significant success, thanks to the planning committee, including Wim van den Berg, Mike Bray, Rodger McMillan, Greg Harper, Mike Parnham, and Kay Brune. The high scientific standards set by the chairman and presenters contributed to the event's quality. With 100 participants from 15 countries, the sessions were engaging and interactive.
