This study explores the economic participation of women in productive activities, highlighting their historical role in community development in both rural and urban areas. It focuses on women entrepreneurs (WEs) who own and operate micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in urban settings, examining their entrepreneurial and managerial capacities that contribute to their success. The research addresses the "how" of entrepreneurship, employing qualitative research paradigms aimed at social inquiry and developing a theory of entrepreneurship as a social phenomenon. Utilizing an interpretive paradigm, the study incorporates gender and feminist perspectives to gain legitimate insights into the phenomenon. Grounded theory (GT) methodology is applied, allowing for the development of theory based on systematically collected and analyzed data through an iterative process. Key features of this methodology include a focus on discovery and inductive theory development, avoiding predetermined hypotheses, employing comparative analysis, utilizing theoretical sampling, and following systematic coding procedures. The study emphasizes context and process sensitivity, ensuring flexibility, and aims to create a rich, narrative-driven theory that accurately reflects the data and its relationships.
