This book will also be of interest to English speaking readers with a good knowledge of the German language and an interest in everyday German life. It contains a series of articles written by court reporters. They represent part of the everyday press reporting of a German city. The articles cover cases of varying scale, severity and impact: all prosecuted within the judicial complex of the venerable criminal court of Berlin-Moabit. The largest court in Europe, has been the stage for important historical events both before and after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Every text is accompanied by a vocabulary, which provides German synonyms/explanations and – for some expressions - translations into English. The annex gives a guide to rules of jurisdicton, conduct of criminal proceedings and legal education in Germany, as well as a comprehensive legal glossary.
