English In 1939, a Roman silver plate with rich figural decoration was found in Slovakia, to which Matthias Steinhart here suggests new significance. On the basis of literary parallels, the author shows that these are representations of famous events from the early days of Brutus, Lucretia, and the battles on lake Regillus and at Veseris and Verginia. Thus, episodes of Roman history are assembled that serve as examples of what right action should be. The choice of images is in line with central ideas of the Roman stoics. The presentations will also be discussed against the background of the special role and significance of silver vessels and equipment in Roman culture. German text.German Im Jahre 1939 wurde in der Slowakei eine römische Silberplatte mit reicher figuerlicher Verzierung gefunden, die Matthias Steinhart hier neu deutet. Anhand literarischer Parallelen zeigt der Autor, dass es sich um Darstellungen beruehmter Ereignisse aus der Fruehzeit Roms Brutus, Lucretia, die Schlachten am See Regillus und an der Veseris sowie Verginia. Damit sind Episoden der römischen Geschichte versammelt, die als vorbildhafte Exempla zum richtigen Handeln auffordern sollten. Die Wahl der Bilder entspricht zudem zentralen Vorstellungen der römischen Stoa. Die Darstellungen werden aber auch vor dem Hintergrund der besonderen Funktion und Bedeutung von Silbergefässen und -geräten in der römischen Kultur diskutiert.
