Viac o knihe

After decades of exclusion from residential areas, water is now a vital aspect of urban design. Its integration into the built environment—through natural water courses, rainwater management, and water features like pools and fountains—has gained renewed interest from architects and urban planners, as well as appreciation from the public. This book showcases the diverse possibilities of incorporating water as a creative element in cities, art, landscapes, and architecture. Organized into seven categories, the works include large-scale masterplans, urban plazas, parks, river restorations, interior designs, and art objects. Notable projects featured include the landscape design for Dubai Business Park, river restoration in Bishan Park, Singapore, landscaping for a new town in Tianjin, China, and designs for Telecom Park in Taipei and Civic Square in Seattle. Herbert Dreiseitl, a sculptor and landscape architect, founded Atelier Dreiseitl in 1980 and has completed numerous projects in stormwater management and water art. Dieter Grau, a gardener and landscape architect, joined Atelier Dreiseitl in 1994 and became head of the landscape architecture department in 1996, contributing to global planning projects and frequently lecturing on his work.
