Since time immemorial, vision and images have been essential to human life. Today, image processing has numerous scientific, commercial, industrial, and military applications, stemming from the interplay between fundamental research and the development of advanced technology. Recently, the scientific community has embraced "fuzzy techniques" in image processing, which utilize fuzzy sets and related theories. Introduced by Zadeh in 1965, fuzzy set theory addresses imprecision and uncertainty by allowing a gradual transition from membership to nonmembership, offering partial degrees of membership. These techniques complement existing methods and can enhance the development of more robust approaches, as demonstrated across various scientific fields.
