Geomorphology of the Tropics

Focusing on geomorphological research in the humid to seasonal tropics, the author explores the unique landform assemblage of stepped etchplains and inselbergs. A significant emphasis is placed on the contrasting chemical weathering and land-forming processes across different rock types. The study highlights the resilience of quartzitic sediments in comparison to the more easily weathered volcanic rocks, such as the Deccan traps in India, providing insights into how lithology and structure influence landscape development.
