Jeanne Les Flambeaux, the underachiever in a family of successful restaurateurs, finds herself on a chaotic quest after her lover, Johnny, steals valuable family jewels. With the help of Crane, a talking crystal skull, she navigates the Great American Southwest to recover the jewels before her family notices their absence. Meanwhile, a series of mysterious disappearances of single women adds an eerie twist to her adventure, raising questions about whether Jeanne is being pursued as she hunts for Johnny.
