Insecticide and Insects. A Forensic Analysis of Pigs as Human Surrogates in Crime Investigations

Focusing on the ecological dynamics of carrion insects, this research investigates their succession patterns and abundance on decomposing pig carcasses, alongside the impact of environmental variables and poison. Conducted at the University of Ibadan, the study utilized two domestic pigs—one euthanized with Sniper insecticide and the other serving as a control. This approach aims to enhance understanding of insect behavior in decomposition processes, providing insights relevant to forensic biology and environmental science.
